Lake Papallacta - Amazon Region

Papallacta

65km. south-west of Quito, on the way to Baeza, is Papallacta Lake, formed by the natural dam of the river Maspa.

It is an ideal place for enjoying the local nature, in the midst of paramo and rocks. Tourists can go trout fishing. In the same area are the famous Papallacta hot springs, much frequented especially at weekends and on holidays.
